Peter Agnew has spent 23 years in the data and voice communication arena. Peter is responsible for Technology Strategy at Colt, providing direction in the development of new and innovative platforms and services. His scope and experience is across all network services including DWDM, Ethernet, IP services and Next Generation Networks and solutions.
Peter was previously at Nortel Networks for 9 years responsible for product management of data products and Internet solutions. Prior to that, he spent 5 years with Timeplex providing 3rd level support for TDM and packet networking products.
||Mr. Kai Behning
Senior Expert, Equinix
Kai Behning is Senior Consultant at Interxion, mainly focused on developing new technical solutions for the financial communities. Trading and clearing members will benefit from well designed and cost optimised connection portfolios to exchanges and financial networks in rapid changing environments.
Kai has been working with exchanges for more than 20 years. During his career, he looked after 100 banks, brokers and clearing companies all over Europe and the USA. Apart from working with the members, he has also participated in several exchange projects; including the migration of the Vienna Stock Exchange to Xetra and building up the technical platform for the Eurex/CBOT alliance in Chicago.
Prior to Interxion, he worked several years as Senior Engineer for Exchange Connectivity for a major German bank, where he was responsible for the connectivity to all major European exchanges, clearing services and MTFs. Furthermore he focused on the performance optimisation of the bank’s ultra-low-latency trading infrastructure.
Aside from these responsibilities, Kai also acts as speaker for IT security for the Technical University Vienna.
||Dr. Lutz Blank
Vice President, Marketing, Colt Technology Services
Lutz Blank holds an international degree in Telecommunications and a Ph.D. in the field of High Capacity Optical Transmission Systems.
During 10 years of R&D at BT’s Research Laboratories in the UK he published widely in the field of ultra long distance and high capacity fibre optic transmission systems. He then moved into business roles with BT Corporate Strategy and Product Marketing.
In 1995 he joined Colt in Germany with a focus on Engineering, Product Marketing and Wholesale business opportunities. Subsequently he has held a range of international roles for Colt, primarily on Products and Marketing.
||Mr. Nan Chen
Nan Chen is known in the telecom/networking industry as the founding President of the MEF. The MEF has materially shaped the telecom and Internet industry by establishing Carrier Ethernet as the predominant technology and one of the fastest growing services for businesses, homes, mobile infrastructure, and for next generation networking for the Internet.
Under his leadership with profound drive to unite standardization and certification with dynamic, global campaigns and strategic initiatives, the MEF has grown to over 150 members, starting with a surge of standards (20+), combined with the historic Carrier Ethernet definition and eminent certification programs, now with over 100 companies certified.
Nan has received 30+ industry awards/accolades and 10,000+ citations in worldwide media (Google Nan Chen). In his past life, he was a record holder in pole vault at Beijing University with 2 MS & 1 BS degrees.
||Mr. Mark Cooper
Product & Marketing Manager, Interxion
For four years, Mark has used his extensive commercial and technical understanding of the networking world to drive Interxion’s product, marketing and partner strategies for carriers, ISPs and IXPs.
He has been at the forefront of European network design, implementation and sales for almost 20 years, developing an exceptional understanding of the technical and commercial platforms on which effective connectivity solutions are built.
Before joining Interxion he worked as customer solutions and sales engineer for BT and BT Europe and developed a wide range of new wholesale and enterprise data products for Cable & Wireless, Enron Europe, NETGEAR and KPNQwest. He was Senior Manager International Services for KPN between 2002 and 2004 before moving on to manage KPN’s Internet Portfolio, Chairing the KPN Peering Committee.
||Mr. Kieran Dalton
VP and General Manager, European Centre, BTI Systems
Kieran Dalton has spent over 20 years in the telecommunications industry, working across a range of companies from BT/Marconi through to innovative start-ups like BTI Systems and Aepona.
A common theme through all these roles has been a focus on innovation and adapting to how external services – WiFi, Web 2.0; Over The Top Services – influence service provider models and products.
At BTI systems, Kieran leads the Software Solutions team who are building application intelligence into edge based products that has the potential to reverse the flawed economic model of current service provision and to create viable new services for Broadband Service providers.
Kieran has a BSc in Electronics from Queens University and an MSc in Telecommunications from University College London.
||Mr. Cees Van Duijn
Product Manager, KPN International
Cees van Duijn joined KPN International as Product Manager in 2009. He is responsible for the development, management, and marketing of the international Next Generation Network and Value Added Services portfolio.
After six years working for BT Global Services in Amsterdam and Brussels as Sales Consultant and Product Manager, Van Duijn joined the Home Communication division of Philips Consumer Electronics in Le Mans, France, as Business Manager. In 2008 he accepted a role as Director EMEA Services Partner with MicroStratey in Las Rozas de Madrid, Spain. In 2009 he returned to the Netherlands and joined KPN International in The Hague.
||Ms. Erin Dunne
Director of Research Services, Vertical Systems Group
Erin manages the delivery and support of Vertical Systems Group’s ENS (Emerging Networks Service) Research Program offerings for clients worldwide. In this role, she coordinates analyst support resources and directs content distribution for syndicated ENS research.
Erin is frequently sourced by leading industry media and speaks regularly at major networking conferences and forums, including the MEF. She has also moderated numerous client-related and industry Webinars, including recent sessions on topics like the Ethernet Exchange market, evaluating hybrid WAN VPLS / IP VPN solutions, and Ethernet services pricing. Erin has more than fifteen years of consulting services experience with Vertical Systems Group, plus previous experience in enterprise IT and engineering projects.
||Dr. Malcolm Edwards

Malcolm has over 18 years experience in the telecommunications industry. He is currently Product Manager for Colt’s Carrier Ethernet services responsible for planning and developing the company's award-winning Ethernet portfolio.
Prior to joining Colt, Malcolm was at Cable & Wireless for 12 years where he held a number of senior positions including Head of Marketing, Europe; Business Transformation Manager and Global Product Manager for Data Services. He has also worked in the IPTV industry as Business Development Manager for Swedish start-up Dreampark AB. Malcolm holds a B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Physics having undertaken research at CERN, Geneva.
||Mr. Chris Eldredge
President & GM Ethernet Exchange, Telx
Christopher Eldredge joined Telx in February 2011 as President and GM of the Ethernet Exchange and Interconnection Products.
Prior to joining Telx, he served as the Executive Vice President of Alternate Channels and Carrier Services at Broadview Network, where he held profit and loss responsibility for $300 million in annual revenue. Prior to that, Chris was Corporate Vice President of Carrier Sales & Service at Frontier Communications, where he had full P&L responsibility for $585 million in annual revenue. In addition, he led the wholesale, buy-side due diligence on the $8.6 billion dollar Verizon Communications transaction, and was responsible for the due diligence and post-sale integration of the $1.16 billion dollar Commonwealth Telephone acquisition.
In his first role at Frontier, Chris was the Vice President of Marketing and Product Development, guiding the execution of the company's commercial marketing and product strategy for small, medium, enterprise and carrier customers and he was also an Executive Director at Cablevision Lightpath.
He holds a M.B.A. from Dowling College, a M.A. in Public Relations and Advertising from New York Institute of Technology. He received a B.B.A. in Marketing from Hofstra University.
||Mr. François Eloy
Executive Vice President, Colt Communication Services, Colt Technology Services
François Eloy was appointed EVP, Colt Communication Services (CCS) in January 2011. His prime responsibility is to integrate the activities of the Wholesale and Midsize business divisions and focus on selling transactional services to meet needs of the channel through an indirect client engagement.
Previously François was Managing Director of Wholesale with the responsibility of positioning Wholesale at Colt as Europe's leading information delivery platform supplier to Carriers, Service Providers and System Integrators that require solutions across Europe. François joined Colt in January 2006 from BT Global Services where he successfully established BT France as a major new player with the launch of their Major Business Channel. He was previously with Equant for 10 years in a variety of roles, culminating in the position of Managing Director, Equant France.

Anders Enström is a part of Transmode's Product Management team, with responsibility for strategic technology decisions for the development of Transmode's product portfolio.
With previous experience in Sales and Technical Marketing, he joined Transmode in 2007. Anders holds a Master of Science Degree in Engineering Physics from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.
||Mr. Herbert Goetsch

Herbert Goetsch is Director, Product Management at Level 3 Communications. He is responsible for product delivery of the transport services portfolio within Europe. This portfolio includes Wavelength services, Private Lines, Ethernet Private Line and low latency transport services.
Herbert joined Level 3 in March 2001 as Product Manager for Internet Access in Germany. Prior to joining Level 3, he worked in several positions within the Communications group at Siemens.
He holds an honours degree in Electrical Engineering from Technische Universität Munich, and is based in Munich, Germany.

||Mr. John Hoffman
Head of Ethernet Product Management, Tata Communications
John Hoffman is the Head of Ethernet Product Management for Tata Communications which is part of the $72.5 billion Tata Group in India.
He is responsible for the Company’s Ethernet service line and supports sales efforts to both the carrier and enterprise markets. John has been actively driving the introduction of differentiating Ethernet services in the market and the Next Generation Ethernet on a global scale.
Prior to joining Tata Communications, John was Product Manager, Ethernet Services for Tyco Global Network, which was acquired by Tata Communications in July 2005. He was responsible for the introduction of Ethernet services onto the global network. His responsibilities included defining service requirements, pricing, commercial terms and coordinating with departments across the company for the service roll out. He joined Tyco in 1997 and held various management positions in sales and marketing and purchasing prior to his appointment to Ethernet Product Manager in 2004. He has nearly 10 years of management experience in the field of international telecommunications.
John earned his Masters in Business Administration from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management, Accounting & Finance from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

Ian currently heads CENX’s commercial development in Europe, Middle East and Africa, ensuring that the growth plan for new Carrier Ethernet exchanges across the region meets the high demand for efficient Carrier Ethernet interconnection by European and global carriers. CENX’s European based sales and engineering team supports carriers that are interested in growing their off-net business, and become a part of cost-effective global Carrier Ethernet marketplace.
Ian's international telecoms experience and background is in marketing and sales for FLAG Telecom and TATA Communications, and more recently with data centres for European co-location provider Interxion.
||Mr. Adam Janota
Director of Global Networks, Equinix
Having joined Equinix in 2009, Adam Janota is focused on the development of Carrier and Network business in Europe. With his expertise, Mr Janota has helped define the strategy for connectivity services within Equinix IBX data centers and has been the lead on the Equinix Carrier Ethernet Exchange program in Europe, from concept trials through to deployment.
Adam joined Equinix from Reliance Globalcom, the international telecommunications arm of Reliance Communications, where, as General Manager for the International Business unit, he was responsible for international business development, strategy and revenue. Prior to this he also held roles at Confere.net Corporation, EXARIO Networks Corporation and POLO Ralph Lauren Corporation.
Mr Janota holds a Bachelor’s in ceramic engineering and materials science, earned at Alfred University, NY.

Brett is Vice President Business Development for AboveNet Europe and has over 20 years of industry experience.
Brett has been with AboveNet since 2002. Having joined the company as UK Sales Director he successfully grew the customer base and revenue every year. In March 2008 Brett was promoted to Vice President of Business Development. He brings to this role his extensive industry experience combined with commercial understanding and the ability to develop innovative solutions.
In his current role Brett is responsible for identifying new opportunities and markets and is spearheading the expansion of AboveNet into Europe as well as enhancements to the UK network.
Prior to joining AboveNet Brett was at Cable & Wireless where he headed up a number of sales and business development functions. His previous experience also includes senior roles at a number of equipment manufactures and distribution organisations.

Robert is a highly trained and experienced research engineer with two published patents in the field of process engineering.
Having left the engineering world to use latent skills in communication and management, Robert spent 10 years in the events business working for a global events organisation, during which time he developed an astute judgement of what will work commercially and how to meet customer expectations, launching and growing events that were highly successful in Europe, Asia and South America.
Robert has drawn together senior professionals with both events and industry backgrounds to build a unique business information platform.

Chris Liou is the Vice President of Network Strategy at Infinera, where he focuses on strategies for developing low-latency transport networking solutions, along with general long term strategic product planning and next-generation optical network solutions for service providers worldwide. Previously, Chris has also served in the roles of Vice President of Product Planning and Vice President of Product Management at Infinera, where he oversaw all product management and technical marketing activities for the DTN™ product lines, including product planning, product definition, and product lifecycle management.
Prior to Infinera, Chris was at Ciena as the Senior Director of Product Management and Marketing for the CoreDirector™ switch product line and LightWorks intelligent optical networking software, and was responsible for cradle-to-grave product management functions, including product definition, strategy and marketing. Chris joined Ciena through the Lightera Networks acquisition, where he drove product definition and product management of the CoreDirector from inception.
Chris has previously held product management and marketing positions at StrataCom and Cisco, and systems architecture and engineering positions at Hewlett-Packard and Telcordia. Chris received his B.S.E. with high honors in Electrical Engineering and a certificate in Operations Research and Financial Engineering from Princeton University, and received his M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Stanford University.

He has worked for Cisco Systems for nearly 11 years, consulting in the fields of SP Security, Data Center and 'IaaS' (Service Automation). Greg is a regular speaker at CiscoLive! and other events. Currently based in London, he holds a BA (Hons) Economics.
||Mr. Russell Shriver
Senior Vice President, Marketing and Product Management, CENX
Russell Shriver brings more than a decade of experience developing, managing and marketing Ethernet Services within a carrier environment and is responsible for CENX's overall marketing and product management functions.
Prior to joining CENX, Russell was the VP, Internet & Data Services for Level 3 Communications and represented Level 3 on the MEF's original Carrier Ethernet Exchange committee. He joined Level 3 in 2003 following a six-year period at XO Communications where he served as the company's Director of Product Management for Internet, Data and Security Services.
His product portfolios have achieved billion dollar annual revenues and have received numerous industry awards. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from Baylor University.
||Mr. Greg Smith

Greg Smith is a Marketing Manager in the Service Provider team for Cisco Systems. In his role within the Corporate Marketing Organization he focuses on supporting Cisco’s Carrier Ethernet and Edge routing platforms.
Prior to joining the marketing team he spent five years in the Boston and New York City offices as a Cisco Systems Engineer selling to emerging and competitive providers. Before joining Cisco Greg held various software development and product marketing roles in the networking and telecommunications industry.
Greg has earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University, and a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. While at Georgia Tech he had the opportunity to attend several classes at Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité in Metz.
Although a native of Silicon Valley, he now lives in Pelham, New Hampshire with his wife and two sons.
||Ms. Soh Lay-Khuan
Director Global Market and Product, Epsilon Telecommunications
Soh Lay-Khuan recently joined Epsilon to head-up the global market and product development. She brings with her more than 15 years of industry experience with various major telecom service providers and network equipment suppliers. Her previous work experience encompasses network design and planning, network operations and service management, sales support, partner, market and product development.
In her last post she was responsible for market development for a global telecom service provider and has developed the South East Asia network for that company. Along with telecom equipment vendors, she designed network solutions tailored to telecom service providers and network operators. Lay-Khuan is well versed in various telecom technologies and the deployment of the technologies each market demands.

Michael South is a product manager at Colt Technology Services, and is responsible for Colt’s European private line and wavelength product portfolios.
Prior to joining Colt, Michael worked at Global Crossing where his responsibilities included network design & architecture, representation at regulatory events and strategic cost reduction initiatives.
Michael started his career as a graduate trainee at British Rail Telecom. He holds an honours degree in Electrical Engineering from Sheffield University, and is based in London.

EMEA Head of IP Portfolio Strategy, Alcatel-Lucent
Phil Tilley currently holds the position of Head of IP Portfolio Strategy in Europe for Alcatel-Lucent’s IP Division. His responsibilities include developing the market awareness of Alcatel-Lucent’s IP product portfolio, working with service providers to ensure success with their business services portfolio and building the required IP skills within Alcatel-Lucent to support a market leading IP portfolio.
Phil is also the Global marketing Co-Chair for the MEF (Metro Ethernet Forum) where he is working with other vendors and service provider members to increase awareness and adoption of Carrier Ethernet.
Phil has more than 15 years engineering and marketing experience. He has worked closely with many carriers throughout Europe advising on the latest market trends. He joined Newbridge Networks in 1992, prior to its acquisition by Alcatel, starting as an approvals engineer. Phil has a Bachelor of Science degree in electronic engineering from the University College of North Wales.

Bruno De Troch is a Technical Lead in the Technologies and Solutions group for Juniper Networks EMEA, where he focuses on Carrier Ethernet solutions and Network Management.
He started at Juniper Networks 11 years ago in various consulting roles, providing guidance to carriers and large enterprises on how to design and optimise their IP/MPLS networks and how to deploy successful Ethernet Services.
Prior to joining Juniper Networks, Mr. De Troch served as a Captain in the Belgian Armed Forces and as a Design Engineer with BT.
||Mr. Bart Van de Velde
Head of Business Development, IP NGN Infrastructure, Cisco
Bart Van de Velde leads the IP NGN team for Cisco’s Service Provider Group in Europe. In this responsibility he is managing the business development activities in the area of NGN transformation covering Core, Edge, Carrier Ethernet, Broadband Access and network management solutions.
Bart joined Cisco in 1999 and has held various technical and business development positions including product manager and senior consulting engineer on broadband technologies.
Prior to joining Cisco, Bart was a member of the initial marketing team at Alcatel developing digital subscriber line (DSL) and remote access carrier solutions. Altogether, Bart has over 14 years of experience in the service provider market.
Bart holds a Masters Degree in Electro-technical Engineering from the University of Ghent, Belgium.

Akhil Verma is the Director of Product Management team at Tinet SpA, a global carrier exclusively committed to the IP and Ethernet wholesale market. Prior to Tinet, he was a Senior Innovations Manager at SingTel based in Australia focusing on emerging technologies.
With more than 16 years of Telco experience on three different continents, he has held senior roles in Marketing, Product Management and Strategy in the industry. He has been responsible for successful commercialisation of a number of IP products and services.
Akhil holds Bachelor’s in Engineering and Business Management from Australian Graduate School of Management.
||Mr. Johannes Weingart

Johannes Weingart works for euNetworks since October 2011 and in his current role he is responsible for the definition and management of the company’s Metro Wavelength Services product portfolio.
Before joining euNetworks Johannes worked as Head of Product Management for TeraGate AG which was acquired by euNetworks in July 2011.
Previously Johannes worked as Solution Manager at ADVA Optical Networking. In this role, he was responsible for identification of applications and definition of solutions for the carrier infrastructure networks market segment. This included business and portfolio strategy recommendations as well as sales enabling and market communication support.
Prior to that, he worked for BT Global Services, where he was involved in definition and launch of BT’s Global Ethernet Service Portfolio.
Johannes has also held various positions in Siemens, including SDH equipment and system development, product management for network management systems and network operation consulting. He holds a degree in Information Technology Engineering from the University of Munich.

Frank joined Cyan in December, 2008. He is currently responsible for marketing, international sales and market expansion at Cyan.
Frank has a diverse professional background ranging from engineering to product management, marketing, sales, business development, general management and executive management for Nortel, AT&T / Paradyne, Calix and Cyan.
Frank has written 3 telecom books: The DSL Source Book, The Book on Video, and The Book on Transformation. He started his career as a network engineer supporting fiber transmission systems for Nortel Networks. Prior to joining Cyan, Frank ran Engineer, Product Management and Strategic Planning for Calix. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida.
