The first Business Ethernet Performance & Exchange Europe in Frankfurt attracted over 130 registered delegates, with over 30 different carrier and enterprise companies attending, and an excellent 2:1 Operator:Vendor delegate ratio.
With many expressions of support from partners and new support from carriers, the outlook for BEPE 2012 in Frankfurt is bright.
François Eloy, EVP at Colt Technology Services, challenged carriers to transform themselves – they are “late to the cloud application party”. Carriers need to tighten the link between the network, data centres and applications and focus on high performance, low latency reliability in a new world where applications are the key.
A theme picked up by Cisco in its vision of distributed data centre architecture with on-demand capacity and resources dynamically moved to the point of demand, in order to maximise performance at optimum cost.
